I’m John Rice. I have been a car enthusiast all my life. The German cars have always been my favorite. I’ve been very active in the BMW CCA for several years. I recently bought my first Porsche and joined the PCA. From the first test drive, I was hooked and agree that “There is no substitute.” I look forward to meeting fellow Porsche enthusiasts and being a part of what makes the Bluegrass Region PCA such a great club.
I’m Jamie Donaldson, long time resident of Georgetown, and Porsche owner since buying a 1973 914 from my Dad in 2002. As the original owner he took great care of her and I am continuing the same, joined Bluegrass Region in 2003. Since then I have also acquired a Cayman and a Cayenne, so I’m a single brand owner. This is my second term as Director, and as a retired professional photographer I will continue as Bluegrass Region photographer. Bluegrass Region members have been a welcoming group, and I actively enjoy the events and the fellowship of members.
Hello, I’m Bill Larkin and currently a Director of the Bluegrass Region. I joined PCA and the Bluegrass Region in 2014. Carol and I have really enjoyed meeting all of the great people associated with our club. We love the socials and the driving tours. We enjoy worldwide travel (when it is safe again) and I lived in northern Germany for three years, where I fell in love with Porsche (but could not afford one). We currently own a 996 Targa and this year I added a 2014 Boxster. I also enjoy watching auto and motorcycle racing and yes, I still drive a motorcycle, but very carefully. I have been a director for several years and enjoy representing our members at events and at the board meetings. In addition, I was the safety chair for two years.
I have been a PCA member since 2007. Since joining the club, I have served on the Board of Directors for several years. I have been a Director, Newsletter Editor, Activities Chair and most recently the Membership Chair. Over the years I have owned 5 different Porsche vehicles. My first Porsche was a 2006 Boxster. I have also owned a 1984 944, an 87 Targa, a 2000 911 Carrera coupe and currently a 2009 Boxster. I don’t pretend to be a mechanical expert on any of these vehicles, but I am very familiar with their driving characteristics and am able to assist other members with answering most of their general questions. I have had the privilege of attending 2 Porsche Parades over the years and hope to be able to attend this year’s Parade in French Lick. It has been a pleasure to serve as a Board Member for our club and I have enjoyed meeting lots of great people. It isn’t just the cars it’s the people!
